How to connect your bank
Link your bank or credit union so transactions and balances fill in by themselves.
The household's owner or an admin, on Connected. Connected includes one bank.
- 1
On Home, find “Connect your bank” in the setup card and press “Connect”. Or go to Accounts and scroll to “Bank connections”.
- 2
The first time, Pitch In asks for a passkey. Press “Use Face ID, Touch ID or your PIN”: your device asks twice, once to make the passkey and once to use it. If you already have one, the button says “Confirm it’s you”.
- 3
Press “Choose your bank” (on Accounts, “Connect a bank”). A window from Plaid, the service that connects to banks, opens.
- 4
Find your bank and sign in to it there. Choose the accounts to share.
- 5
The window closes and your accounts appear, with transactions from the day you connected.
Worth knowing
- Pitch In never sees your bank password, and it can only read: it can’t move money.
- Balances and transactions update on their own several times a day, and the balance says when: “as of 3:12 PM”. To ask your bank for what’s new right now, press “Refresh from your bank” on Home or Accounts. That’s twice a day per household, up to twenty a month. For this second’s balance, your bank’s own app is the place.
- “Do this later” skips it during setup, and the “Connect” button stays on Home until you do.
