Terms of Service

Pitch In is operated by Pitch In in Michigan, United States. These terms apply when you create an account or use the product. If you don’t agree with them, don’t use it.

You must be 18 or older to create a household. Someone aged 13 to 17 may be invited into a household by a parent or guardian who has an account, and that adult accepts these terms on their behalf and is responsible for their use of Pitch In. Pitch In is not for anyone under 13. Pitch In is offered in the United States only.

A place for a household to record what it has, what it spends, what goes out regularly, and who does which chores. Every number in it was typed in by someone in your household.

It is not connected to any bank. We do not link accounts, import transactions, or hold banking credentials. If that changes, these terms change with it and you will be told before it applies to you.

It is not financial, tax, investment or legal advice. Budgets and totals are arithmetic on what you entered, nothing more. Decisions you make with them are yours.

The product is free, invitation-only, and unfinished. That means features may change or disappear, and there is no service level: it may be unavailable, and data you enter could be lost through a fault on our side.

Keep your own record of anything you would miss. This is the honest version of a warranty disclaimer, and it is meant literally.

We may end early access, or stop offering the product, with notice to the email address on your account. If we do, you will have a reasonable period to get your data out.

• Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
• Everyone in a household can see everything in it — balances, transactions, budgets, bills and chores. There are no per-person restrictions yet. Invite accordingly.
• A household's owner and admins can invite people, change roles, and remove members. The owner can delete the household entirely, which deletes everything in it for everyone.
• You are responsible for the people you invite and for what they do in your household.
• Don't use Pitch In to break the law, to store someone else's financial information without their knowledge, or to attack the service or the people using it.

You can stop using Pitch In at any time. To have your account and its data deleted, email heydavidelliott@gmail.com and we will do it. Self-service deletion is not built yet, and this is the interim: a request from the address on the account, done by hand. The privacy policy says exactly what is removed.

We can suspend or close an account that is being used to harm other people or the service. Where it is not an emergency, we will say why first.

Pitch In is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Pitch In is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data or lost profits.

Because the product is free, our total liability to you is capped at $100. Some states don’t allow parts of this, and where that is true, it doesn’t apply to you.

When these terms change in substance, the version number above changes, and we will email the address on your account before the new version applies. Continuing to use Pitch In after that is how you accept it. Typo fixes don’t get a version bump.

These terms are governed by the laws of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. There is no arbitration clause and no class-action waiver, which is deliberate at this size.
